Big belly & size VS Small belly & petite

Congrats..! A new different you..Beautiful...with either big or small in terms of size or belly.

When its the last time, you can gain weight so proudly with a living being within yourself. I m enjoying every moment with my big belly. All my 3 pregnancy, my belly is being suspected as twin baby. So, you can imagine how big my belly was..

I would say the size of the baby bump is very subjective and individually. Some even believe, big belly is big babies vice versa with small belly with smaller babies. This is a common myth and mis-conception as the size and growth of baby can be measured in 2ways (a book written by Adriana Hunter) .

(a) Measure height of fundus (Fundal height or MacDonald's Rule...more) (the distance from your pelvic bone to the top of the uterus, a distance that grows by about one cm a week;

Eg; Within 1-3 cm measure of 22cm should be seen on a 19 - 25 weeks pregnant women. If your measurement at 19 - it should increase as the pregnancy continues toward a due date.

(b) Assessing fetal size through abdominal palpation.
*Further measurement, ultrasound scan can be done at higher posibility to assess the exact age of prenancy.

Adriana quotes : Neither of these notations "small for dates - SFD" or "large for dates - LFD" are necessarily cause for concern. But, instead maybe used by family doctor as to sign to rule out more serious problems. This situation will be more to (LFD babies) , because this mean the mothers will need C - section.
