Breastfeeding VS Infant Milk Powder
Presently, as a mother of 3 children, I m very concern on making comparison as such between Breastfeeding VS Infant milk powder. Personally, I m strongly believe and support on "Breastfeeding Your Babies" as much as possible & as long as possible..
Then again, there is lots incidents due to unforseen circumstances such as lack of milk supply, illness, surgical treatment, etc..which I cant define therefore, they have to opt to give up..
BREAST FEEDING
How it made?
Breast is a gland consist primary of connective and fatty issue that support and protect the milk producing areas of the breast. The milk is produce in small clusters of cells called alveoli, which then it travels down ducts to the nipples. Its a process of demand and supply, the more you let your baby latch on, the milk will be flowing out naturally. Of course, with a good positioning and good diet from your pre and post natal.
I believe many of mothers or even newly crown as mothers, known the wonders of breast milk for babies. To summarize for all newly mothers, breastmilk provide yourself, babys and society a superb benefit...MORE...
To support my view, I read some articles from "Wikipedia", mention the World Health Organisation, UNICEF and other health agencies, highly recommend "Breastfeeding" exclusively for baby first six months of life while compare with Formula infant milk powder that might be an imperfect approximation.
WHY?
(a) Till now, the chemical properties or nutrient breakdown of breast milk are still quite hidden and not much full recorded report in this subject.
(b) Breast milk changes in conjunction with the feeding habits of a baby, temperature of body, over time that work together with the infant's individual growth and development.
(c) Sanitation method while preparing milk for babies in bottles often an issue either in poor countries, poor mothers in developing countries or even the rich mothers as though this standards is known often its lack of mean to perform them.
(d) Feeding time and quantity required is merely a recommendation by the milk powder company. Mothers had to be caution, patiently and observe the amount taken from time to time. Eg : Poor mothers, they will use less powder mixed with more water in order to prolong the container of milk last longer while the richs, the baby might be overfed.
(e) Naturally, the breastmilk contain the mother's antibodies that benefit the babies as mothers immune system had many years of training in combating the germs and bacteria.
An article to share "Baby milk issue" which backdated happen in 1977 and the recently year 2008 "Tainted milk powder".
However, if mothers that are finding excuses of lazy, no time, messy, etc...I would say this is rather selfish act...But, again this is their choice for their still young and vulnerable baby.
